Author: There are many interesting and exciting features of the cruise line ships that make them one of the most popular trips. Travel to various destinations around the world is one such feature. One can enjoy the sail and along with that, visit exotic destinations around the globe.
The theme of each and every cruise ship might differ with that of the others. Some cruise lines offer exclusive ocean sails, whereas some of them have romantic themes. Various other cruises are family oriented and some are oriented towards senior citizens. Thus almost anyone can enjoy a cruise ship vacation.
There are a lot of things that one must take note of before setting sail. There are some things to keep handy. First and foremost thing to be kept in mind for a cruise ship travelling to foreign shores is a passport. One can travel overseas only with a valid passport. However, if the cruise ship is operating within one’s home country, one can do away with it.
Money is another important consideration to be made while travelling. Most people are not sure how much of it to be carried. One needs to know how much the trip is going to cost. The cruise lines provide meals, sleeping arrangements, and passage. If one wishes to buy anything extra, or utilize personalized services such as spas or saloons, or visit the port of call, he/she would need to shell out extra bucks. Sometimes, the cruise ships have such systems in place allowing adding everything to the final bill.
Control over one’s schedule is another point where people have lot of doubts. This is decided by the type of cruise ship. The cruise ship may or may not impose a strict schedule on the passengers. The ship might have a schedule for different events and even for visit of the destination. There are ships which control only the meal timings. One must check all these points with the cruise ship or the travel agent.
Another concern for most people is the type of dress to be worn. This depends on the climate of the destination. Cold places would require packing of sweaters and long sleeves while warmer places need shorts and tank tops. Further, the types of activities to be held on the ship also decide the clothing. One needs to pack formal clothes for the evening activities which are common among all the ships.
It may be possible that there are activities relating to some particular hobby. Thus one should check with the cruise line about the same. Some cruises provide activities like water parks, ice rinks, golf courses, rock climbing, swimming, and gambling as well. There are activities for people from all walks of life, people of every age group from kids to senior citizens. These things need to be checked with the travel agent or the cruise line operators. There is something for everyone. If one is interested in a particular activity, taking a specialized cruise would be advised.

Cruise Lines are very attractive holiday plans indeed, but I find them too costly? Are there any viable plans available for the middle class budgets?
Cruise ships have been my dream. My last plan got cancelled at the last minute. Since then, I am looking for my second trip down to Jamaica.
